ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
Sick Writes is a letter writing workshop by Sick Futures Collective and Sandwich Press — designed for sick and disabled people, and anyone who wants to slow down, connect, and celebrate the coming summer season through the art of correspondence.

We'll spend two hours writing letters to friends old and new + near and far as a way of tending to our care webs and relationships in bloom. Settle in with guided prompts, examples, and community writing time. Those who'd like to be connected with a pen pal will be matched through the workshop. All bodyminds welcome!

This session will be facilitated by Sandwich Press creator and Sick Futures Advisory Council member Em Krall (they/she), a multimedia print artist and disability advocate whose work centers supporting others in telling their stories.

LETTER WRITING PACKETS
This workshop is capped at 50 participants. Those located within the US who register by May 20th will receive a free, snail-mailed letter writing packet including an original mini print by collaborating artist Sal Marx. Participants who register after May 20th, or those located outside the US, will receive a digital version of the materials.

SLIDING SCALE / DONATION OPTION

Body Journals: A Zinemaking Workshop for Every Body

Body Journals is a creative workshop by Sick Futures Collective and Sandwich Press — designed for sick and disabled people, and anyone interested in exploring the stories our bodies hold. We’ll make zines as a way to reflect, process, play, and connect at the start of the new year.

Participants will receive guided prompts, examples, and community time to create their own “body journal” zine. No prior experience is needed.

ZINEMAKING PACKETS
This workshop is capped at 50 participants. Those located within the US will receive a free, snail-mailed zinemaking packet with materials donated by Letterpress PDX. Please provide your own markers, pens, pencils, other drawing tools, scissors, and/or glue. *Participants located outside the US will receive a digital version of the materials.
