Futures Lab

Futures Lab is where we experiment with crip-led, survival-based futures — through collective design, creative prompts, and participatory projects.

This living space updates regularly at the pace of crip time — shaping ideas, testing possibilities, and building new ways of care together.

Thank you for your interest!

We look forward to sharing the zine showcase in our Futures Lab this February 2026.

Stay tuned for more creative, political, and embodied workshop opportunities throughout the year.

Body Journals: A Zinemaking Workshop for Every Body

Sat, Jan. 10th, 2026 | 3-4:30pm PT | Virtual (Zoom) | Free / By Donation

REGISTER BY DEC. 25TH: https://bit.ly/bodyjournals

Body Journals is a creative workshop by Sick Futures Collective and Sandwich Press — designed for sick and disabled people, and anyone interested in exploring the stories our bodies hold. We’ll make zines as a way to reflect, process, play, and connect at the start of the new year.

This session will be facilitated by Sandwich Press creator and Sick Futures Advisory Council member Em Krall (they/she), a multimedia print artist and disability advocate whose work centers supporting others in telling their stories.

Participants will receive guided prompts, examples, and community time to create their own “body journal” zine. No prior experience is needed.

Prompts

Fall 2025 Prompts

1. What would healthcare look like if sick and disabled people designed it from the ground up?

2. If time moved at the pace of disabled life (rest, fluctuation, access) what new possibilities would open up?

3. Think of a small act of care you’ve received or given that felt revolutionary. How could that act shape a broader future of care?
